According predictions from the real estate consultancy company Anticipa, Spanish property sales will reach 526,000 transactions in 2018, an increase of 9.3% on this years anticipated 481,000 sales.
The figures are from a report presented at Barcelona Meeting Point by Anticipa Real Estate, one of Spain’s largest real estate consultancy firms.
Along with growth in sales transactions, the report also forecast the price of both resale and new build properties to continue to increase by 5.8% during the fourth quarter of 2017 followed by a further 5% throughout 2018, although they will remain 23% below the peaks recorded in 2007.
If proved correct, the number of home sales in 2018 will be 85% higher than that of the low in 2013 when only 285,000 property sales were recorded, nevertheless the market will still be 42% behind the 900,000 property sales registered during the 2006 peak.
The report goes on to predict an increase in new home sales with completions forecast to reach 63,400 in 2019 compared to the 62,900 expected in 2017. Again whilst this would represent 48% growth compared to the low of 2016 when only 42,700 new homes sales were completed, it is still a significant 90% below that of the peak years.
