One of luxury tourisms leading global brands, the prestigious W Hotels Worldwide, is set to open it’s first project in Marbella.
Expected to generate up to 300 million Euros for the town of Marbella along with 1,000 new jobs, the luxury W Marbella will have 200 rooms plus a further 100 villas and tourist apartments occupying 151,000 square metres adjacent to the Real Zaragoza dunes on the beachfront in Las Chapas, east Marbella.
During a recent trip to Hong Kong to promote Marbella as a city for tourism and investment, the towns Mayor, Jose Bernal, met with representatives of the hotel chain and thanked them for their “commitment to Marbella” and commented that “the city had been a leading destination in the Mediterranean for over half a century” and that the “council are committed to ensuring that it continues to lead the tourism market” with the W Hotel Marbella set to “mark a new era for the city”.
W Hotels Worldwide is part of the Marriott International Group which includes the acclaimed Sheraton and Le Meridien amongst its ranks. Occupying some of the worlds most exclusive locations, the number of W hotels has grown to 60 since 1998 when the first hotels doors opened in New York.
Along with another in Madrid, W Marbella is scheduled to open in 2019, joining the brands current solo Spanish hotel in Barcelona.
