Investing in the long term future popularity of Mijas Costa, Taylor Wimpey España are planning to construct 600 new homes in La Cala Resort in a joint venture with FBD Hotels & Resorts.

The Spanish arm of the UK property developer Taylor Wimpey PLC and the Irish hotel and resort promotor are to commit 125 million Euros over the next 10 years to construct the 600 new homes in the popular Mijas Costa golf resort.
The two companies first began working together in 2014 and have already constructed a number of properties within the resort which boasts three 18 hole courses, a four star spa hotel, and various sports facilities. Just 30 minutes from Málaga airport, the properties offering golf, sea and mountain views to target international golf lovers, retirees and second home buyers.
Announcing the extended venture between the two companies to further develop La Cala Resort, the Managing Director of Taylor Wimpey España, Javier Ballester, stated “Responding to demand from European buyers we’re delighted to present this new initiative in La Cala Resort which has become our new gold development in the Costa del Sol.” David Kelly, FBD’s President went on to say “the continuous development of La Cala Resort demonstrates not only the growing demand for homes in the south of Spain, but also the strenght and attractiveness of our property portfolio.
