The latest figures released for the month of July reveal a total of 169,683 Spanish property sales transactions during the 31 day period, growth of 14.5% compared to the same month last year.
According to the Spanish National Institute of Statistics, of the total property transactions during the month, 45,900 were residential homes, this itself represents 16.2% growth and is some 20,000 greater than the previous year.
Of all of Spain’s 17 regions Andalucía once again recorded the largest number of property sales with 27,743 real estate transactions registered, 8,730 of these were residential home sales. Despite being slightly lower than the number of sales witnessed the previous month, the number of homes sold in Andalucía during July is 20% greater than the same month of 2017.
Boosted by July’s figures, the longer term picture over the first seven months of the year demonstrates a continuing upward trend with residential property sales increasing 11.7% to reach over 308,000 transactions registered in Spain between January to July. The cumulative twelve month total has risen 13.3% over the last year now standing at 498,000, the highest level since February 2009.
