Málaga province, home of the Costa del Sol, recorded in excess of 30,000 residential home sales transactions in 2017, the highest level since 2008.
Recently released by the College of Registrars, the figures for 2017, the highest since the pre-crash boom years, represent growth of 14.6% when compared to the previous twelve months.
The total number home sales registered equates to more than 30% of all property transactions recorded throughout all of Andalucía’s eight provinces during the year.
At twice the Spanish national average Málaga province witnessed 18.3 property sales per 1,000 inhabitants second only in terms of population size to Alicante which recorded 18.7 homes purchased per 1,000 inhabitants.
Overseas purchasers were responsible for almost 30% of the total 30,300+ sales transactions in 2017, evidence of the unwavering appeal of Málaga and the Costa del Sol to the foreign market.
