During the first quarter of this year Marbella witnessed more than one thousand property transactions, amongst the highest number throughout Spain.
The level of property sales registered annually in Marbella has been steadily increasing since 2013 and is now amongst Spain’s highest recording towns and cities including Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and Màlaga.
Of all the homes sold, 948 were re-sale properties, amounting to almost 95% of transactions. This has been attributed to Marbella town halls planning issues, however the figures only include sales completions and not off-plan sales which may complete in 12 to 18 months time.
Whilst Marbella was second only to Màlaga in terms of completed home transactions in the province, Estepona is rapidly catching up having registered a total of 946 property sales during the first three months of 2017, almost doubling the 476 transactions recorded during the same period the previous year.
